Numeric sketch input is a dimensioning feature that allows you to specify dimensions while you’re creating sketch entities. In the video below, we’ll look at how to use this feature and how numeric sketch input can save you time in defining and dimensioning your sketches.
Let’s review.
To turn the numeric sketch input feature on you can go to options, then system options, sketch and then check the “Enable on screen numeric input on entity creation” option. Selecting “Create dimension only when value is entered,” found under this first option, allows SolidWorks to add a dimension each time a numerical input is used.
Numeric input sketching can often save you time in defining and dimensioning your sketches, so it’s a good idea to take advantage of all the different settings and options available.
