Some of the highlights in the architecture version include the integration of the Parasolid 3D modeling kernel from Siemens PLM Software, which helps with the creation of freeform solids and modification of 3D objects. Also included is a new Object Navigator for structured model data to help with viewing complex structures. New functions for rendering have also been added to help with the communication and presentation of client documents. Customer wishes such as improved libraries and improved workflow options have been implemented.

Some of the highlights in the engineering version include the same new Parasolid 3D modeling kernel along with the new Object Navigator as well. It also includes customer wishes, such as improvements to the “Section Along Any Path” function that allow sections to update automatically when there are modifications to components with the section area. There’s also multi-display support, which aids in positioning of the model. Feet and inches have been added and the user interface in now available in Chinese for the first time.

With BIM becoming more and more popular and in some cases required for certain projects, adding new functions, improving usability and listening to and responding to customer requests helps to keep Allplan at the forefront of BIM software.
