RedVector Adds Thirty New Courses on Autodesk 2015 Products

RedVector has teamed up with Global eTraining to add thirty new courses totaling almost 1,000 hours on advanced training for Autodesk 2015 products such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks and 3ds Max Design to name just a few.

The news caught my eye as we’ve been looking into some different online training options at Advanced Technical Services (ATS), a Nebraska-based computer-aided drafting and design firm where I work. So I decided to take a closer look.

RedVector, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, is a provider of online education and training for a wide range of industries, including architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing, chemical processing, power generation, oil and gas, mining, pulp and paper, food and beverage, pharmaceutical manufacturing and facilities management.

Their online training library includes nearly 2,250 interactive courses. These courses are designed for those who wish to hone skills, develop careers, stay up to date on safety information and meet continuing education requirements.

Global eTraining is a Canadian-based company with over 25 years of experience in developing computer-based training. They have provided training services to some of the world’s largest and most diverse multinational design, construction and software organizations, government bodies and educational institutions. Their patented learning methodology can adapt to a user’s unique learning style with text, audio, demos, exercises and videos.

Reviewing the RedVector website revealed a well laid out, easy to navigate interface. From the main screen you can chose from training for your company or training for yourself or you can browse through sections on “Industry Courses,” “Products & Services” or “Training Solutions.” You can also search for specific courses or course content.

I found the “Autodesk Online Training” information under “Course Libraries” in their “Products & Services” section. I was asked to fill out a general information form about myself to download the “Autodesk Online Training” library. The library list contained training courses for thirty different 2015 Autodesk products and eight additional courses for 2014 products.

RedVector indicates that the content is written, reviewed and presented by industry experts and that it is constantly reviewed and updated to align with the latest Autodesk releases. The content includes text, audio, video, demonstrations and “let me try” exercises.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the variety of industries for which training was available.

Another great feature is the ability to set up a customized training system specifically for your company through the “Online University” and “Course Libraries.” ATS will definitely be looking into RedVector moving forward.
