Top Infrastructure Projects to Be Shown Off in London

Every year, some of the world’s biggest engineering projects go on display at the Be Inspired Awards put on by Bentley Systems.

The Be Inspired Awards, which have been running since 2004, will be hosted at the annual Year in Infrastructure Conference at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel in London, UK. The conference will run from November 3 to 5, 2015.

Bentley’s software is used to design, construct and operate infrastructure through the use of building information modeling (BIM), collaboration services and operations services. The awards were created to honor and recognize the work of Bentley users in the advancement of infrastructure design, construction and operations throughout the world.

Of the more than 360 nominations made for the Be Inspired Awards, 54 contestants were chosen as finalists for the contest’s 18 categories including Innovation in Government, Innovation in Power Generation, Innovation in Rail and Transit and more.

Ten independent jury panels of industry experts chose these finalists using specific criteria for each category.

Finalists will present their projects at the conference, with the winners being announced at an evening ceremony and black tie gala.

The Year in Infrastructure Conference

In addition to the Be Inspired Awards, Bentley’s annual conference will feature a series of keynotes by Bentley senior management and guest speakers in addition to interactive workshops on the intersection of technology and business drivers.

A number of industry forums headed by the likes of American Electric Power, Fiatech and Trimble will also take place.

“The Year in Infrastructure Conference is one of my favorite Bentley events,” said Malcolm Walter, chief operations officer at Bentley Systems. “It provides, within a few focused days, inspiring presentations of the year’s most extraordinary advancements in infrastructure, coupled with valuable insights on the innovations in technology and best practices that are helping to improve project delivery and asset performance.

“At the same time, attendees have ample opportunity to network with other infrastructure leaders who are shaping the future,” Walter continued. “I look forward to welcoming the many senior executives from infrastructure organizations around the globe who will gather at the Hilton London Metropole in November for this engaging experience.”
