ARCHIBUS v22 Adds Mobile Apps and Management Tools

ARCHIBUS, Inc. has recently released its suite of ARCHIBUS v22 software. This release features many updates with an emphasis on comprehensive asset management, from the individual to the community level. It is meant to appeal to a broad user base with tools suitable for governmental, institutional and business organizations of any size.

ARCHIBUS, Inc. produces software and services to automate real estate, infrastructure and facilities management. The ARCHIBUS solution suite as a whole attempts to tackle common challenges in real estate management, such as space planning and asset management.

ARCHIBUS applications operate on a centralized data platform. Apps are integrated into each other and, for example, changes to the existing space inventory will flow directly into strategic space forecasts. This expedites working between apps and allows individuals and departments to share information more easily.

The update also expands existing applications for asset management and introduces new apps for Intelligent-Strategic Space Planning and Intelligent-Advanced Portfolio Forecasting.

Strategic space planning is built onto the strategic master planning app. It integrates space planning with space budgeting and project capabilities. The application can model supply and demand for space and integrate predictions for the future. This module allows space planners to compare and propose different organizational options and to see the potential effects of future in-sourcing or leases.

Portfolio forecasting allows a user to see the potential ramifications of various portfolio planning scenarios and more thoroughly evaluate tradeoffs and pinpoint future areas of need.

The suite also introduces two new mobile apps, which complement ARCHIBUS' existing hazardous materials and asset registration solutions. One app expedites asset registration by scanning assets and inventory and adding them to a database. The app helps the user avoid duplications and verify the categorization of each item. Another mobile app has been developed to complement the ARCHIBUS Hazardous Materials app. The mobile app can collect and verify inventory, as well as track location.

The new release's key offering is Intelligent-Enterprise Asset Management (i-EAM). It includes various tools for managing equipment and furniture, connectors, mobile frameworks, big data synchronization and more.

With ARCHIBUS v22, users can manage their assets across various categories over time. Planning and budgeting are expedited by automating tasks that would normally be very labor-intensive.

Finally, improvements to information modeling let users more easily visualize, analyze and consolidate data. They also provide enhanced connectivity with CAD, BIM and other software.

Asset management allows organizations to coordinate asset planning with real estate and capital. ARCHIBUS' app gives a comprehensive view of all assets, including properties, buildings, land, structures, equipment and furniture. Basic actions like asset acquisition, management and disposal can also be done through the app.

Bruce K. Forbes, founder and president of ARCHIBUS, projects that organizations that use the advancements in the ARCHIBUS v22 suite will realize total savings growth exceeding 38 percent, to the tune of $240 billion in aggregate savings worldwide.

These rather grand claims are drawn from the input of ARCHIBUS' user base of eight million spread across 190 countries. The standards, practices and return on investment values of this user base are the guiding force behind the ARCHIBUS v22 updates. Should ARCHIBUS' growth predictions and the predictions of its "intelligent" software hold true, this very same user base will reap the benefits.
