The annual Be Inspired Awards put on by Bentley Systems set the stage for some of the year’s biggest engineering projects.
The Awards were hosted at the Year in Infrastructure conference, which was held from November 3 to 5, 2015, in London, UK.
More than 360 nominations were made and 54 finalists were chosen to compete in 18 categories. These finalists presented their projects to peers and independent jury panels at the Awards and the winners have been chosen.
Here are the most innovative infrastructure projects of 2015.
The Predictive and Operational Analytics Tools for the Adelaide Metro Water Distribution Network

This project aims to improve water security in the Adelaide, Australia region with the introduction of new piping and pump stations.
The Ceira River Bridge

This project spans 250 m and rises 140 m over the Ceira riverbed to connect Lisbon and Coimbra, Portugal.
One Merchant Square

This 42-story project has a complex curved profile which requires unique cladding, structural floors and perimeter structural columns.
