French Vendor for Structural Steel Acquires U.S. Autodesk Reseller Business

GRAITEC has been pretty active since partnering with Autodesk back in October of 2013. Most recently, the company announced that it had acquired Texas-based company, Total CAD Systems, Inc., an Autodesk Premier Solutions Provider and Platinum Partner.

GRAITEC provides civil and structural engineering software for use with steel and reinforced concrete construction projects.

Earlier this year it released Advance 2016 suite, which included two new products—an extension for Autodesk Revit and a steel production management information system (MIS)—along with two products included in previous releases. The full suite is comprised of Advance Workshop, Advance PowerPack for Autodesk Revit, Advance PowerPack for Autodesk, Advance Steel and Advance Design. Then one of those products, Advance PowerPack for Autodesk Revit 2016, was also added to the Autodesk App Store to try and to buy.

As for the Total CAD Systems acquisition, the email news release indicated that both parties saw significant opportunities to combine their strengths and better serve their customers. This move also made GRAITEC the only Autodesk Platinum Partner operating across the United States and Europe.

Total CAD Systems, founded over 18 years ago, provides clients with implementation, consulting and support for its Autodesk solutions. The company’s website touts over 200 years of collective industry knowledge. It offers both a telephone helpdesk and onsite customer support.

Total CAD Systems provides Autodesk software solutions across the architecture, engineering, construction, manufacturing and general design industries. It is also associated with such groups as the Associated General Contractors of America, Structural Engineers Association of Texas, American Society of Civil Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.

All this recent activity, coupled with its expansion into the U.S. market, falls right in line with the widely publicized rapid growth strategy of GRAITEC, a developer of structural steel and civil engineering software used in the architecture and construction industries. The growing interest and utilization of BIM has definitely added to its success as well. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in France, it is one of the fastest growing international Autodesk Value Added Resellers (VAR). GRAITEC has over 350 employees, operates through 12 countries and has 26 offices worldwide and provides products used by more than 40,000 construction professionals worldwide.
