The DM-1 is a new high-speed vertical machining center. It is identical in construction and specifications to the DT-1, with the exceptions of a 40-taper inline direct drive spindle and an 18+1 side-mount tool changer.

Key features of the DM-1 include its compact footprint and 15,000rpm direct-drive spindle with high-speed rigid tapping to 5000 rpm. An optional rear chip lift auger clears chips from the enclosure, separates them from the coolant and then discharges them into a container.

The DM-1 was designed to allow machine shops using 40-taper tooling to upgrade their machining capabilities without having to invest in the 30-taper tooling required by the DT-1.
