Installing a Smart Grid in the U.S. for Reliable Electricity

The numerous issues with U.S. infrastructure are nothing new, but an often overlooked component is the electrical grid. Currently, the grid suffers from inefficiencies and high costs, but smart technologies could solve these problems.

On the other hand, making the grid smarter could also make it more vulnerable to cyber attacks.

This is not a problem with a simple solution.

Fortunately, the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Online Masters in Electrical Engineering program has created an infographic to help clarify the challenges and benefits of a smarter power grid.
