Maple 2016 Release Expands Engineering, Science and Math Applications

In its newest release, Maple has been enhanced to solve a wider variety of math problems, including differential equations, graph theory, statistics and even general relativity problems.

Aside from its overarching improvements, Maple 2016 has specifically enhanced the way it handles workflows, calculating thermophysical properties and even handling real world data sets.

By far, the biggest improvement in Maple 2016 is the new Maple Workbook. With Maple Workbook, users can create a central repository for keeping any related documents, files and data sets. What’s more, when sharing a workbook with team members, all file dependencies are managed, ensuring that everyone on the team can see the right parts of a shared mathematical problem.

Maple 2016 has also introduced a new flexible and intuitive user interface that relies on frames to give users greater control over how they analyze and organize real-world data.

Although workflow improvements may make the job of solving for “x” a bit easier, expanding the mathematical domains for which the software can be used is also equally as important. To that end, Maple 2016 can now crunch the thermophysical properties of pure fluids, humid air and mixtures to generate psychrometric charts and other visualizations.

In addition to its solvers that focus on the mathematics underpinning the real world, Maple 2016 also comes equipped with an enhanced application development tool, Explore. With Explore, users will now have a one-step application-building tool that also includes an analysis program that can interrogate, optimize and correct code.

Given the fact that many engineering disciplines rely heavily on math, it’s no wonder why mathematic software like Maple is critical to successful product development. With the ability to easily create mathematical expressions for solving common problems, visualizing complex thermodynamic forces and validating physical behavior, Maple 2016 and other mathematical software are making the job of engineering a bit easier. Hopefully, this translates to safer and more reliable products.
