New Wire EDM from ONA

The ONA AV range is the latest wire electrical discharge machine (EDM) from ONA and features a number of advances over the previous generation.

A new CAM CNC allows up to 8 axes to be controlled simultaneously and has built-in CAD/CAM and a 23-inch touch screen.

The EDM’s new generator makes it possible to achieve finishes in the order of 0.1 microns Ra. The automatic threader is designed for manipulating fine wire of up to 70 microns.

The machine also features a new control system for corners and profiles, linear scales with a resolution of 0.1 micron and an unique protection system with the ability to detect impact forces of only 0.8 kg.

The improved energy management system reduces power consumption by up to 30 percent during the cutting process, while ONA’s ECOCUTTING technology decreases wire consumption.

The redesigned layout allows a 20 percent reduction in floor space compared to other models of equivalent size.
