OMRON Announces Global Release of New Robot Line

OMRON Corporation is launching a new series of industrial robots across 39 countries.

Among the 49 robots to be released are a new parallel robot (Quattro), SCARA robot (eCobra) and articulated robot (Viper).

OMRON’s robots have been integrated with the company’s family of sensors, safety components and NX/NJ series machine automation controllers to simplify their introduction and installation.

All robots can be controlled by a common integrated development environment for flexibility in addressing multiple applications.

The robots within the machine control environment can be linked through the Sysmac automation platform.

An “Automation Control Environment” (ACE) contains application-oriented wizards that minimize the amount of programming codes. Users also have access to a 3D emulation tool to reduce the time to validate new automated processes.

Vision-guided robotics applications are completely supported by the ACE PackXpert for packaging lines.

The new robots will be released for April 1st, 2016. Those with a whimsical sense of humor will note that this release date coincides with April Fools Day – here’s hoping OMRON isn’t pulling a prank of global proportions.
