In this latest release, Elysium has taken its feature-based translation tool and honed in on one specific improvement: deeper integration with SOLIDWORKS.
Working directly with Dassault Systèmes’ SOLIDWORKS API, Elysium has added support for associative drawings. The software will now be able to translate all types of drawing views, including projection, auxiliary, section, isometric, detail, breakouts and break views. In addition to its handling of drawing views, CADfeature 14.0 will able be able to map fonts across software, and enable component view visibility overrides. Finally, all 2D annotations, such as symbols, dimensions, notes, GTols, centerlines and centermarks, can be interpreted and recoded without error.
Although Elysium’s efforts with SOLIDWORKS integration have already produced satisfactory results, the company isn’t done with its efforts to bind itself to Dassault Systèmes . . . or, at least, that’s what Dassualt Systèmes’ management team is hoping for.
“We are excited with the new enhancements to Elysium’s CADfeature product line as it will provide a much higher level of data interoperability with SOLIDWORKS, and we look forward to building upon our partnership with Elysium in the future,” said Kurt Lundstedt, manager, SOLIDWORKS product portfolio management, Dassault Systèmes.
While it remains to be seen what the future might hold for Dassault Systèmes and Elysium collaborations, one has to imagine that it’ll be bright. With SOLIDWORKS commanding a gargantuan share of the MCAD market, who wouldn’t want to be in the business of translating their documents?
Apparently, Elysium feels the same way.
