To kick off its release, Lenovo has introduced a new class of workstation aimed at startup designers, at-home tinkerers, educators and those on a budget.
Named the P410, Lenovo’s latest machine comes with a starting price of $1,000 and features Intel’s Xeon E5-1600 v4 processors complete with Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0. In addition to an industry-standard processor, the P410 can also be configured to hold up to 128 GB of RAM and will run a NVIDIA Quadro M5000 graphics card. Needless to say, for a beginner’s workstation, the P410 is plenty powerful to run any 3D modeling or rendering software and comes in at the right price.
Anchoring the other side of the workstation spectrum is Lenovo’s top-end design tool, the P510. While the P510 has been in the Lenovo lineup for a while, it’s now been given an update to keep up with the demands of cutting-edge CAD, large assemblies and even virtual reality visualization and design.
In its latest incarnation, the P510 can be configured to leverage the power of an Intel Xeon E5-1600 v4 or Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 CPUs. On the back of that processing power, the P510 can also hold up to 256 GB of DDR4 RAM and processes its graphics via a NVIDIA Quadro M6000 GPU . The new P510 also has the ability to harbor up to 11 total drives and can run on an energy-sipping 490W power supply.
