Creaform Re-Engineers MetraSCAN 3D R-Series

Earlier this week, Creaform announced the arrival of the latest generation of its automated inspection solution, the MetraSCAN 3D R-Series. The main feature upgrade is the improved cycle times to support industrial production control.

Creaform develops, manufactures and sells 3D mobile measurement technologies and specializes in engineering services for consumer products, aerospace, automotive, health care, gas and oil, as well as research and training.

Designed to suit the needs and requirements of high-volume manufacturing operations, the robot-mounted optical-based 3D scanners on the MetraSCAN 3D R-Series can be integrated within any working environments and without impeding workflows. The scanner aims to match the need for turnkey review alternatives that can be incorporated into a manufacturing workflow by expanding optical-based 3D scanning technology to automated quality control procedures

Along with increased shop floor operation (compared to previous versions), the new MetraSCAN 3D R-Series augmentations capitalize on several program-oriented crucial characteristics, including an optimized robot reach to enable quick measurements of big parts with complex geometries. Its small shop-floor footprint and shop-floor -prepared accessories provide simple control of the scanner parameters for maximum operator safety.

Along with TRUaccuracy, the scanner is  compatible with a turntable. The MetraSCAN 3D R-Series features new glass-shielded placement targets that can withstand severe environmental conditions. These targets are designed to improve durability in shop-floor environments, such as airborne dust or soil, which could impact product lifecycle and cause repetitive calibrations.

The MetraSCAN 3D R-Series is currently available for ordering. More information is available through local Creaform representatives
