Designed to be the single point of entry for engineers working with material data and CAE solvers, MaterialCenter from MSC Software is a data lifecycle management solution for material data. When used, engineers are able to create CAE models using various CAE solvers for which the software then creates CAE material records based on design data, ASTM/ISO test data and databanks.
Drawing on the success of MaterialCenter 2015, MSC Software has announced the latest version of its materials lifecycle management tool, MaterialCenter 2016, with a slew of new features ranging from a revamped user interface to more flexible export options.
While MaterialCenter 2015 included integration with select pre- and post-processing tools for users to access MaterialCenter data without leaving their current platform, the new release includes a more intuitive integration for users to export material data directly into solvers, including MSC Nastran, Marc, Abaqus and ANSYS. Additionally, the capability to export to Microsoft Excel has been enhanced with better support for properties and materials in order to remove the need for Excel mappings.
The update will be joining the company’s new MSC One subscription-based token system, which uses a revolving pool of tokens for users to use a full range of CAE solutions offered under the MSC One licensing system. Established for both large-scale global enterprises and small consulting firms, the new system aims to provide an affordable and necessary tool as engineering needs for a project mature or change.
