The 1,395-sqft. arena is set in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, 49 kilometers south of Seoul and includes many of the things a prospective drone pilot would look for in a training facility.
The tracks include LED-lit rings with matching seats for the pilots, as well as space for spectators with multiple screens showing the action from the drone’s point of view. The warehouse containing DJI’s arena is also built for safety, with nets that prevent any wayward UAVs from escaping. A workshop area allows the pilots to maintain and recharge their drones to keep them in proper working order.
"We hope to provide a safe and fun environment for people to experience the technology first hand, whether they are skilled enthusiasts or someone who is just curious to learn. Best of all, the indoor venue will provide a space for people to fly all year round despite weather conditions outside."
The venue will have staff and experts on hand to help those without experience in flying drones, using DJI’s own models for practice in their Flying Academy.
The arena is now open and accepting reservations. For more information on DJI and its drone models, visit the company website and YouTube channel.
