Variscite has extended its i.MX-based System-on-Module portfolio with the introduction of the VAR-SOM-MX7, based on the NXP i.MX 7 application processor family. This SoM carries a dual 1GHz ARM Cortex-A7 core alongside real-time 200MHz Cortex-M4 coprocessor.

The VAR-SOM-MX7’s connectivity options include a certified Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 / BLE, dual GbE with integrated PHY, dual USB, audio, display with touch panel, camera, PCIe, 32-bit parallel bus and multiple serial interfaces.

The VAR-MX7CustomBoard carrier board complements a reference kit of the VAR-SOM-MX7 SoM, which can be used for evaluation, development and end-product mass production.

The VAR-SOM-MX7 SoM and associated development kits are available now.

Price starts at USD$39 for 1000 units.

Microsemi Announces miTimePLL Network Synchronization Devices for Synchronous Ethernet, IEEE 1588 and Optical Transport Network

Microsemi Corporation has announced the availability of miTimePLL, a new family of network synchronization phase-locked loops (PLLs) for Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE), IEEE 1588 and optical transport network (OTN). The new products work in combination with the company's miTimePLL technology.

Microsemi's ZL307xx and ZL306xx network synchronization PLLs offers 180 femtoseconds (fs) typical jitter. These devices come with phase alignment, including any-to-any frequency, better than 2 ns input/output (I/O) alignment, embedded 1 pulse per second (ePPS), time of day (ToD) registers, reference/synchronization inputs and full monitoring and hitless reference switching between GPS/SyncE/1588.

IDT Load Reduced DIMM Chipset Drives NVDIMM Performance in Big Data Analytics

Integrated Device Technology, Inc. has announced that Diablo Technologies has selected the IDT DDR4 LRDIMM chipset as the interface solution for its Memory1 128GB system memory module. The IDT chipset enables flash memory to operate at the speed of DRAM in NVDIMM applications.

Memory1 provides 1TB or 2TB of system memory in a single two-socket server using conventional flash memory.

IDT's DDR4 LRDIMM chipset provides a bridge between the memory channel and module media that includes signal conditioning, data alignment and fault detection.

Pasternack, a manufacturer and supplier of RF, microwave and millimeter wave products, introduced new waveguide directional couplers with performance up to 33 GHz.

This release of waveguide directional couplers consists of 74 models spanning a frequency range of 5.85 GHz to 33 GHz across eight frequency bands. The couplers are offered in two physical configurations including "Crossguide" and "Broadwall" versions and come with either UG-style or CPR-style flanges.

Pasternack's waveguide directional couplers are offered in various waveguide sizes from WR-137 to WR-34 and are offered in 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 dB coupling levels with full waveguide operational bandwidth. These waveguide couplers have a typical VSWR of 1.05:1 and are constructed using a copper alloy.

All of the new waveguide couplers from Pasternack are in-stock and ready to ship now. For detailed information on these products, visit the product website.
