CAE engineers and analysts know that the number of simulation and CAD files in their databases is ever growing. When you multiply this through an engineering firm with specialists in various disciplines, the number of files becomes near impossible to keep track of, let alone spot synergies between the disciplines.
SimData Manager, however, will track the CAD geometries and simulations. As a result, the software will be able to know which designs are paired with which simulation. This can be very useful when it comes to writing reports and discovering synergistic simulation results from multiple disciplines.
“Most larger organizations are challenged by the size of CAE data and the extension of CAE into many disciplines,” said Albrecht Pfaff, head of Sales and Marketing at PDTec. “Global simulation teams want to share their analysis results and work on joint CAE projects. SimData Manager provides a central enterprise system to manage all CAE data globally.”
SimData Manager can also keep track of when changes have been made to the design’s CAD geometry. The software notifies the CAE analyst so they can assess if the design changes warrant a change to the simulation.
“We see great opportunities for Altair’s customers to leverage the new partnership and get access to PDTec’ s SimData Manager via HyperWorks Units,” said Pfaff. SimData will also be compatible with HyperMesh, HyperView and HyperGraph to improve how CAE data is passed around within the HyperWorks platform.
