Chinese Manufacturer Unveils New Industrial Robot Series

The swiftly growing Chinese manufacturing market is seeing investment both from without and from within.

Based out of China, Delta Group was on hand at the 18th China International Industry Fair (CIIF), where the company outlined its plans for automation and the development of Industry 4.0.

A strong supporter of the Made in China 2025 initiative—an effort to enhance the country’s manufacturing by increasing the quality of products through innovation and technology—Delta announced a new line of industrial robots for workstations to complement those already in production.

Delta’s first vertical articulated robot, the DRV90L Series is focused on electronic motors, rubber, plastics, metal and machine manufacturing. The line is designed to improve operation time and efficiency in production and component testing.

The DRV90L was seen at CIIF working in conjunction with control and monitoring systems that automatically record test data, connected to a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This sort of connectivity and monitoring is essential to expanding into the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).

Delta also had demonstrations of its existing line of industrial robots, the SCARA DRS40L and DRS60L.

The DRS40L is already in use at Delta’s facility in Wujiang and is seeing use in finished product detection, gluing tracking, automated screw tightening and soldering. The DRS60L is in use at the same facility on the fan rotor assembly line.

Beyond its robotics series, Delta showcased an updated ASDA-MS robotic drive and control system with machine visualization and servo motors. The motion control AC servo ASDA-A3 series and the IP55 draught fan pump frequency converter CFP2000 series were also on display at CIIF.
