Honeywell and Aereon announced cooperation plans Jan. 10 to leverage Honeywell's Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) ecosystem, INspire, to improve efficiency, reliability and safety for industrial customers' operations.

Honeywell and its ecosystem partners are creating a simple-to-use system that provides secure ways to use advanced analytics with collected data. By maximizing domain intelligence from a large and unique ecosystem of prominent process licensors and equipment vendors, their infrastructure should enable customers to reduce and eliminate manufacturing upsets or inefficiencies.

Access to a larger pool of data opens many doors.

Manufacturers will be able to apply advanced analytics for more thorough data scaling, appropriate for both enterprise-wide and single-site operations. They will also be able to leverage a larger variety of data experts through Honeywell’s partners for analytical and monitorial purposes.

"For years, manufacturers and producers have looked for ways to solve operational problems that were believed to be unsolvable – such as unplanned downtime, underperforming assets and inefficient supply chains… maximizing output, maintaining regulatory compliance, increasing safety and optimizing supply chain strategies," said Andrew Hird, Honeywell Process Solutions' Digital Transformation Business VP and GM.

"With the capabilities of the IIoT, we can find new ways to solve those problems. A key part is the creation of an industrial ecosystem that leverages the depth of knowledge and experience of a range of equipment and service providers such as Aereon."

Aereon brings fit-for-purpose combustion and vapor recovery products to the table. These products are backed by internal expertise and plans to produce a field-installed base.

The combination of Aereon’s expertise and Honeywell’s capabilities in data accumulation will allow customers across the globe to leverage their operations by maximizing their IIoT capabilities.
