Kisters Improves Rendering and Realistic Performance in New Release

Kisters has announced the release of the 2017 version of its 3DViewerStation Desktop, a universal CAD view for engineers.

Kisters' 3DViewerStation Desktop has long been known for its well-designed user interface, its advanced model interrogation tools and the wide range of 2D and 3D file formats that the viewer can handle. In this latest release, Kisters' engineers have expanded the functions of the tool to include a rolling ball wall thickness analysis tool, extended animation effects, and enhanced vectorization of data when 2D files are being exported to DXF.

Beyond those features 3DViewerStation Desktop also gives users the opportunity to enhance the photorealism of their models. In this newest release, material can be applied to a model and scenes can be lit by a Skybox, improving the photorealism of a model.

Of course, no update of a CAD viewer would be complete without additional support for new file formats. With the 2017 version, the Kisters' team has added support for SolidEdge ST9, SOLIDWORKS 2017, NX 11 and HiCAD file formats. These formats can be added to the list of supported file types that includes CATIA, NX, Creo, SOLIDWORKS, SolidEdge, Inventor, JT, 3DPDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, Microsoft Office and many more.

“The goal of the 2017 release was to ensure that even ultra-large assemblies can be rendered fluently on average to small PCs with standard onboard graphics accelerators like Intel’s HD series.
