Engineering has been around for a long time, stretching all the back into pre-history. Sadly, those achievements aren’t documented.

But almost 3,000 years ago, a bunch of clever people in the Nile Valley began codifying their ideas about how to reliably build structures and tools.

Since then, the history of engineering has exploded with invention as individuals and collectives have transformed our fundamental understanding of the world into tangible technological progress.

So, how exactly has the story of engineering progressed?
