Autodesk’s architectural design and drafting software, AutoCAD Architecture, has received a new software update, which is available for users on Autodesk subscription or maintenance plans. AutoCAD Architecture 2018.0.3 includes fixes for several known issues involving the user interface, export to AutoCAD, and more.
AutoCAD Architecture extends the standard features of AutoCAD to include architectural functionality, with tools for renovations, walls, windows, doors, room documentation and more. It also includes tools such as preset and custom-defined spaces to enable building information modeling (BIM).
The AutoCAD Architecture 2018.0.3 release includes the following improvements:
- A fix for an application crash when creating a new view from the Project Navigator
- A fix for some dialog boxes not remembering their size and location
- Improved security by rebuilding a dynamic link library file (LandXMLSDK.Aec.dll) with compiler security flags
- A fix for wall objects not being displayed in 3D realistic view for some drawings
- The addition of the AutoCAD 2018 file format to the application menu
- A fix for some omissions of architecture-specific layers when exporting to AutoCAD

“We are happy to announce the release of AutoCAD Architecture 2018.0.3 Update,” wrote Anurag Verma, senior SQA engineer at Autodesk, in a forum post announcing the release. “This update includes the fixes for critical crash issue during AEC object creation and creating a new view from Project Navigator and several issues, including Architecture objects display in external reference drawings, Migration from previous releases, Section, and Product Security.”
