Dassault Systèmes has acquired partner company No Magic, Inc., a US-based software company focused on model-based systems engineering solutions. No Magic’s portfolio of solutions will be integrated with Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform to complement its CATIA (Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application) suite of CAD, CAM, CAEand PLM applications.
No Magic’s flagship offering is its system modeling software MagicDraw, a collaborative business process, architecture, software and system modeling tool for business and software analysts, programmers, QA engineers and documentation writers.
In addition to MagicDraw and other No Magic tools, the acquisition will bring even more industry standard models and languages to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which already boasts support for open standards and languages for systems engineering including STEP, Modelica and ReqIF. The No Magic acquisition will add UML-SysML, DoDAF, MODAF, UPDM and UAF to this list.

All in all, the acquisition hopes to extend the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to bring even more integration and simplicity to companies in the aerospace/defense, transportation/mobility and other high-tech industries.
