Free Webinar: Transfer CAD Data to AR/VR Using Radeon Software for Unreal Engine

On Thursday,Dec.14, if you are a SOLIDWORKS user interested in transferring CAD data to augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) environments, there is a free software from Radeon called ProRender Game Engine Importer for Unreal Engine that will be the centerpiece of a 60-minute webinar.

To get top-down approval for designs, engineers need to present their work for review, and VR and AR still dazzle people’s visual cortexes. More importantly, a CAD design presented in AR and VR allows review teams to skip over the mental work of imagining a design in its eventual physical environment.

During the webinar, attendees will learn how transferring CAD data into AR and VR with Radeon’s ProRender Game Engine Importer for Unreal Engine (in beta) can help with ergonomic analysis as well as sales and marketing. 

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has created a free beta solution that is intended to reduce the cost, lower the learning curve and improve the visual quality of CAD-to-AR/VR data porting.

The webinar and Radeon ProRender add-in are for SOLIDWORKS users only, and the following topics will be addressed:

  1. How to adjust the mesh quality of your CAD data at the part or assembly level for optimal visualization performance in AR and VR.
  2. How to use the free version of ProRender Game Engine Importer for Unreal Engine to import your models into Unreal Engine (also free to use).  
  3. View your own CAD data in AR or VR at high visual quality quickly, and then explore what you can do with some simple features to enable interactivity in Unreal Engine.
