Virtual reality and three-dimensional immersive environments are inching ever closer to being the norm when it comes to architectural, construction and civil engineering project visualization. Today, clients, both large and small, are becoming accustomed to the fact that computations can deliver realistic simulations of reality, and they expect designers to deliver these types of project previews before they will sign off on any large build.

To make the process of transforming 3D models into immersive visualizations, Abvent, the French visualization software firm, has announced an update to its Twinmotion 2018 package.

According to Abvent, Twinmotion 2018 v2 has been enhanced to be compatible with VR controllers from Oculus and HTC. With these new tools in hand, VR users can interact with a simulation using hand controls and goggles.

In addition, Twinmotion also features expanded environmental options like control over the sun’s power, ambient power and the white balance of light. All of these new tools can be toggled in real time to fine-tune a simulation.

Finally, Abvent has added more libraries to its latest release. The library expansion covers water materials and particles such as fire, smoke, waterfalls, fountains, fog and more.
