Vero Software has released the latest version of WorkXplore, a feature-rich CAD file viewer and analyzer. The new version, WorkXplore 2018 R2, adds enhancements including updated online help, new viewing options, updated format support, and more.

WorkXplore 2018 R2 adds support for the following major formats:

  • DXF/DWG 2018 files
  • Solid Edge ST10
  • SOLIDWORKS 2018
  • Siemens NX 12

In addition to these, WorkXplore can import formats including CATIA V4-V6, Creo, Inventor, Parasolid, IGES, STEP, OBJ, STL, PLY, and more. Formats supported for export include STEP, IGES, STL, PLY, OBJ, MEG, JT, 3DPDF, WorkNC CAM geometry, DXF, and DWG.

In WorkXplore 2018 R2, the online help has been revamped to include dialog, screenshots, and new icons to better help the user.

In the new version, users can now see the RBG code for surface colors in the Face Information dialog box (a highly requested feature, according to Vero).

Other additions to WorkXplore 2018 R2 include:

  • In the Change Entity Display menu, users will find a new ‘Triangles’ option to show or hide tessellation
  • In view management, users will be able to define rotation by vector instead of by two points
  • The STEP Export function now saves the model with respect to the active coordinate system

“If the current system axis is different from the absolute one, this important enhancement means the components can be translated relative to the co-ordinate system of the workplane,” said WorkXplore user Luca Clerici.
