Alibaba Unmanned Logistics Vehicle

Alibaba and RoboSense released G Plus, a solid-state LiDAR unmanned logistics vehicle that uses solid-state light detection and ranging (LiDAR) technology. The vehicles can be mass-produced, allowing for the expanded use of unmanned logistics vehicles and streamlinedmass market delivery logistics. The unmanned vehicles can be equipped with different smart devices according to demand, providing an array of industrial, manufacturing and commercial applications.

The G Plus unmanned vehicle is equipped with three RS-LiDAR-M1Pres sensors, two in the front and one in the rear, to ensure 3D perception of the driving environment. This allows the G Plus to see the direction of travel, including the shape, distance, azimuth, travel speed and direction of potential obstacles.

Kistler Dynamometer

Kistler introduced the MicroDyn 9109AA dynamometer, a series-produced cutting force meter. It is designed to provide manufacturing companies and research institutions with a system that can produce precise measurements of cutting forces during the development of micro tools.

Measuring 30×30 mm, the MicroDyn has a natural frequency of 15 kHZ in all three axes. Dynamic forces of up to 500 N and the resulting torques of up to 50 Nm can be measured and calculated. This makes it possible to detect forces with tool speeds of up to 120,000 RPM on individual blades of the device.

Microchip Production MCUs

Microchip unveiled the PIC18 Q10 and ATtiny1607 microcontroller (MCU) families, which feature multiple Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) designed to help simplify development and allow rapid response time to system events. Suitable for applications that use closed-loop control, the PIC18 Q10 and ATtiny1607 MCUs are CIPs that independently manage tasks required from the CPU.

Both lines have systems for functional safety and operate up to 5V, increasing noise immunity and providing compatibility with the majority of analog output and digital sensors. All PIC18 Q10 devices are supported by MPLAB Code Configurator, a software plug-in that provides a graphical interface to configure peripherals and functions.

Nanotec Brushless DC Servo Motor

Nanotec developed the PD2-C-IP, a brushless DC servo motor with an integrated controller and 42 mm flange that is part of the IP65 protection class. The PD2-C-IP has an operating voltage of 12 to 48 V and a rated power of 105 W. As a stepper motor, the device has a nominal torque of up to 0.5 Nm. Due to the field-oriented control based on an integrated encoder, both motors are controlled in the same way and differ only in their working point.

Each motor is available in USB and CAN open versions. In the USB option, the motor can be parameterized and programmed for standalone operation. The USB port is covered by a waterproof cap. The motor operates on digital and analog input signals in combination with the stored program.

NK DC Current Transducers

NK Technologies introduced the DT-FD series of DC Current Transducers. The DT-FD line provides a sensing window and ability to safely monitor circuits with voltages of up to 1500 VDC and 400 amps.

The sensors can be mounted on a DIN rail or attached to a back panel with screws. The power supply, output signal and finger-safe terminals are located on the top of the sensors to allow for easy installation. The DT-FD’s one-piece design combines the current sensing elements and signal conditioning to provide an output compatible with most control systems.
