The latest version of CADENAS’s PARTcommunity CAD model library has been published. In version 8, users will find several new features and improvements alongside the millions of CAD models from hundreds of component catalogs available for free download.

Highlights of the changes in PARTcommunity version 8 include:

  • For the first time in PARTcommunity, users can edit the dimensions of a component directly in the 3D view. These changes will propagate automatically to the table.
  • Manufacturers can send product and service information directly to users’s PARTcommunity Inbox on the right side of the user page. Communication now complies with the new EU Data Protection Directive.
  • End-of-life information is provided for the configuration of a component alongside recommended accessories.
  • Component manufacturers can provide additional information about given components, such as videos, instructions, alternate parts, and more in the new hotspot feature.
  • Catalogs with the CADENAS quality seal (gold, silver, or bronze) are now more clearly identified in PARTcommunity.
  • Component previews have been equipped with tabs and optimized to inform users if the 2D or 3D preview must be updated due to a configuration change. Users can further adjust 2D drawings with respect to thickness, line color, and more.
  • The new LIVErendering function will provide realistic component images using Maxwell Renderer software. This function must be supported by component manufacturers.
  • Users can now log in to PARTcommunity with their email instead of a username.
