B&K Precision announced the DAS240-BAT Portable Multi-Channel Recorder. This recorder measures and records voltage, temperature, current, resistance, frequency and pulse. Measurement data can be saved to the 32 GB internal hard drive or an external device such as a USB memory stick. The unit also includes two USB Host ports and a LAN interface that allow users to remotely control and configure the recorder with the free DASLab software.

The DAS240-BAT comes standard with 20 universal analog channels, including screw input terminals, and is expandable up to 200 channels. The acquisition system features 16-bit resolution and can record measurements with a sampling rate up to 1 ms per channel. The user interface features a 10-inch TFT color touchscreen with Icon-driven menus. Measurement results can be displayed in numerical and graphical format.

Keysight USB Measurement Platform

Keysight Technologies released a USB measurement platform that ensures consistent, repeatable results across each phase of design. The Streamline Series is comprised of several USB instruments: vector network analyzers (VNAs), oscilloscopes and an arbitrary waveform generator (AWG) that use the company’s measurement algorithms and application software.

“The Keysight Streamline Series platform enables organizations to address the ever-increasing pressure to stay productive, optimize resources and meet tight deadlines in creating new electronic devices,” said Dave Cipriani, vice president of Keysight’s oscilloscope division. “Customers can now move confidently across every stage of their product lifecycle by leveraging accurate, repeatable results from whichever form factor they need: compact USB, modular or benchtop.”

Information concerning pricing and availability can be found on Keysight’s website.

NI Lab Testing Software

National Instruments (NI) launched its LabVIEW 2018 testing software.Test engineers can use the increased functionality in LabVIEW 2018 to strengthen code reliability by automating the building and execution of software through integration with open interface tools like Jenkins for continuous delivery.

Capabilities like this allow users to focus on system integration and development where they can create differentiation, rather than getting bogged down in the semantics of how to use software tools or move IP from one to another. For test engineers using FPGAs for high-performance processing, deep learning functions and improved floating-point operations can reduce time to market.

Pico Oscilloscopes

Pico introduced the PicoScope 5000D Series FlexRes oscilloscopes and MSOs, which feature up to 16 bits of vertical resolution with up to 200 MHz bandwidth and 1 GS/s sampling speed. FlexRes hardware employs multiple high-resolution ADCs at the input channels in different time-interleaved and parallel combinations to optimize either the sampling rate to 1 GS/s at 8 bits, the resolution to 16 bits at 62.5 MS/s or other combinations in between.

PicoScope 5000D MSO models add 16 digital channels, providing the ability to accurately time-correlate analog and digital channels. Digital channels may be grouped and displayed as a bus with each bus value displayed in binary, hex, decimal or level (for DAC testing). Advanced triggers can be set across both the analog and digital channels.

Additional technical specifications are available on Pico’s website.

Rohde & Schwarz DOCSIS Analyzer

Rohde & Schwarz launched the DSA DOCSIS signal analyzer. Cable network operators can use the analyzer to check whether their networks and network components meet DOCSIS requirements. With the DSA-K1500 option, the analyzer now provides additional functions for analyzing DOCSIS 3.0 and DOCSIS 3.1 upstream signals.

To ensure interference-free coexistence of DOCSIS 3.0/3.1 and digital TV channels in cable TV networks, the DSA can optionally analyze J.83/A/B and DVB-C digital TV signals. The device also features real-time signal processing, error analysis processes, rapid result presentation, and signal demodulation and output.
