AutomationDirect has released the ProSense SC6 Series signal conditioners. The devices are housed in a 6mm-wide package that allows high density mounting on a 35mm DIN rail to optimize panel space. Models are available for conversion of standard DC voltage and current signals, bipolar signals, thermocouples and RTDs. Isolation eliminates ground loop problems.

The SC6 Series features single-channel, two-channel and signal splitter models. Power options include an in-rail power bus, loop powered output, as well as models that are powered directly from the input signal. Application specific models also have fixed configuration, requiring no set up.

Aventics has announced its Smart Pneumatics Analyzer (SPA). Users can connect the SPA to the compressed air supply on an existing machine, providing them with analysis options for key machine characteristics, such as compressed air consumption and possible leakages.

The portable case contains a Smart Pneumatics Monitor (SPM), an AS series maintenance unit and a tablet for visualizing the live data. The SPM initially detects the system operating state, analyzes data and provides this processed information to users for status-oriented maintenance, for example.

Beckhoff Automation has introduced the TwinCAT 3 Building Automation software platform to modernize intelligent building systems. TwinCAT 3 Building Automation meshes with existing TwinCAT 3 modules for HMI and IoT, along with Analytics and Scope, and bundles functions for building automation into one universal tool.

With TwinCAT 3 Building Automation, users can now utilize the TwinCAT 3 automation platform for building control features such as: Visual Studio integration, an integrated engineering environment, eight programming languages with interacting modules in a single runtime, reusability of source code and scalability to suit different controller performance levels.

POSITAL Multiturn Absolute Kit Encoders

POSITAL has expanded its line of kit-style encoders for feedback for servo and stepper motors with models that utilize the same mounting form factor as incremental kit encoders from most other manufacturers.

Multiturn absolute kit encoders are based on magnetic sensing technology that provides a reliable encoder system. The multiturn counting system is powered by Wieg and wire energy harvesting technology, which enables the encoder to maintain true absolute position over power cycles and rotation of the encoder during power-off conditions. With 17 bits (131072 positions) of single turn resolution and 16 bits (65536 turns) of multiturn range, the absolute kit encoders are ideal for position control applications.

SignalFire Wireless Telemetry has introduced the ModQ Sentry, a Modbus Flow Totalizer that interfaces with pulse-type inductive turbine (and other) flow meters to provide flow rates, accumulated totals and status information. Units are configurable for volume and time settings and offer options to configure the K factor to match the turbine.

Powered by an internal lithium battery for standalone operations or an external 6 – 36VDC power source, the ModQ Sentry provides a local display along with a Modbus RS485 data port to integrate with PLC/SCADA and DCS systems. In addition, the ModQ Sentry maintains an internal thirty-day log of daily flow totals for historical analysis or backup storage.
