Kubotek3D, the CAD developer behind KeyCreator and the Kosmos 3D Framework, has announced a new CAD viewing software called K-Display View. The viewer is set to debut this September at IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) 2018 in Chicago, Illinois.

K-Display View is supported across all platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. It’s built on the architecture of the Kubotek Kosmos 3D Framework, which supports the latest versions of all major CAD formats, both neutral and proprietary: SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, Inventor PTC Creo, Siemens NX, Solid Edge, CATIA V5/V4, IGES, STEP, Parasolid x_t and x_b, ACIS SAT, JT, and STL. Users will be able to open any files of these formats in read-only mode.

Like any CAD viewer worth its salt, K-Display View also offers measurement capabilities. Users can measure sizes, areas, distances, and volumes of solids. K-Display View also allows users to create images and PDFs from the CAD models.

“CAD applications are expensive, and in many cases, it’s unnecessary for all members of a team to have individual licenses for full versions of the software,” said Yoko Nakamoto, CEO of Kubotek USA. “Kubotek’s K-Display View software is an engineering-grade, ‘one-stop shop’ program that enables users to view CAD files of all types without the need for any additional tools, resources, or licenses.”

K-Display View will replace Kubotek’s previous CAD viewing software, Kubotek Spectrum. After K-Display View debuts at IMTS 2018, users will be able to download a free trial of the software. As of yet, there is no pricing information available.
