There’s a good reason why Dell is a household name in the PC world—it produces great devices. And the story seems to keep getting better each year. The company’s most recent unveiling of a new array of innovative devices promises a more enjoyable—and higher level—of computing experience for everyday users, business owners, product designers, mobile professionals and engineers alike.
The first-ever Dell Inspiron Chromebook—the Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1—is probably the most newsworthy device in this latest array of Dell products. This convertible laptop should prove a great option for Onshape CAD users, as it is packed with great computing power in its 8th Generation Intel Core i3-8130U CPU and 128GB onboard eMMC storage—both of which provide a consistently responsive and quick performance. The Inspiron Chromebook is also a great choice for mobile professionals, as it comes with a spacious 14-inch FHD IPS display and promises up to 15 hours of battery life. With its very own Chrome OS, it delivers seamless integration with all Google applications as well as access to millions of Android applications on Google Play.
Dell has also upgraded its Inspiron 5000 and 7000 2-in-1 series with a wide range of premium features. These include the addition of Intel 8th Generation U-series processors and thermal routing of air through hidden vents. This, of course, makes it possible to execute performance-intensive operations for longer periods at comfortable temperatures.
The XPS 13 family has also been upgraded, as the 13-inch convertible laptop now comes with the all new Intel Core i3 processor (8th Generation), making it the most powerful device in its class. This coupled with up to 15 hours of battery life means this device could provide a great choice for engineers and designers who are always on the move.
With monitors, Dell has taken things a step further with its 27-inch ultra thin (5.5mm) monitor. With about 600 nits of peak brightness, it is currently the world’s brightest monitor in its class and promises a deeply immersive experience. The monitor’s built-in IPS panel provides a crisp and consistent color scheme when viewed from multiple angles, making it a great tool for medium-sized presentations.
