IMTS Day 2 – Augmented Reality and Intelligent Digital Supply Chain Management

Light Guide Systems and HP Unveil Light Guide Stratus

Light Guide Systems and Hewlett Packard joined forces to release an augmented reality (AR) technology in a flexible, adaptable benchtop platform for assembly processes.

It integrates HP’s Sprout Pro immersive computing platform directly into a bench structure to increase the display surface area and free up critical space on the workstation. This expanded workspace will allow new types of applications and tools to be incorporated into assembly processes for any industry.

Designed to be versatile, intuitive and user-friendly, Light Guide Stratus utilizes all of the Sprout Pro platform features, such as a 2D and 3D scanner and two screens, to transform objects from the physical to digital space. This allows for a wide variety of uses in the manufacturing, design, education and commercial fields.

SAP Introduces Solutions for Digital Supply Chain Management

The SAP Integrated Business Planning product is a cloud-based technology for sales and operations planning, demand sensing and forecasting, inventory and supply optimization, and exception-driven response management. It gives planners greater visibility and insight to manage assets and processes across an entire intelligent digital supply chain.

The technology is intended to help supply chain planners use technologies such as the Internet of Things and Big Data to anticipate and adapt quickly in an environment of heightened customer expectations and volatile demand.

SAP also announced the integration of its S/4HANA enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to support digital supply chains.

The S/4HANA solution helps companies integrate Industry 4.0 technologies including the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and machine learning–enabled automation into their supply chain and manufacturing environment. It includes capabilities for production planning and scheduling, availability and fulfillment, compliance, health and safety, and production engineering and operations.
