ABB Variable Frequency Drive

ABB has released the ACQ580 variable frequency drive (VFD), which is geared for the water and wastewater industries. The ACQ580 increases system performance, simplifies commissioning and operation, and optimizes wire-to-water/air efficiency. The device also improves flow and reliability in municipal pumping and aeration applications.

The VFD includes features that are specifically designed for municipal industries. For example, the pump clean feature dislodges debris from impellers, while the sensor-less flow calculation feature provides accurate flow measurement without the use of a flowmeter. Furthermore, additions such as the soft pipe fill mode reduce water-hammer damage, while the quick-ramp protects submersible pumps.

LonTrend has announced the LTSX03 explosion-proof PTZ housing for monitoring harsh environment security. The LTSX03 comprises different variants for adding heater, blower, wiper and built-in IR 30/60/100m to meet the needs of a variety of installation environments. As for the pan and tilt function, the LTSX03 has 360º endless rotation and ±90° tilt, which enables zero-spot monitoring from limited installation sites.

The LTSX03 is compatible with camera systems that support the Pelco-P/-D protocol and the RS-485 standard. By accessing any existing IP-based network, users can troubleshoot abnormalities, and respond to and investigate incidents remotely.

RoboSense Intelligent Perception LiDAR

RoboSense has introduced the RS-IPLS Intelligent Perception LiDAR system, a hardware and software algorithm setup for the mass production of autonomous cars. Functioning as an autonomous driving system, the RS-IPLS features real-time data pre-processing and a “gaze” function that is similar to the human eye.

The RS-IPLS system, based on MEMS solid-state LiDAR, outputs the color point cloud data by merging the underlying hardware of 2D imagery with the RS-LiDAR-Algorithm deep learning sensing algorithm that was developed for autonomous driving. The detection algorithm achieves target-level information that adjusts the region of interest (ROI) detection area in real-time with no delay.

TrendMiner Contextual Analysis Software

ContextHub software platform. (Image courtesy of TrendMiner.)

TrendMiner will soon launch a set of capabilities collectively called “ContextHub.” Serving as an extension to the company’s TrendHub, ContextHub is built around the structure of OSIsoft PI Event Frames and Asset Framework, broadening the use of contextual information for root cause analysis and operational performance monitoring.

ContextHub is a repository, search engine and collaboration platform for context items that can be aligned to assets, processes and events. The platform can be configured to specific requirements, meaning the context itself becomes a dataset that can be both visualized and analyzed. It also serves as a starting point for time-series analytics.

Yokogawa Power Analyzer

Yokogawa has developed its WT5000 power analyzer, which achieves a measuring accuracy of ±0.03 percent at 50/60Hz, allowing for the precision evaluation of the power consumption, loss and efficiency of electronic devices.

Harmonic measurements for multiphase systems are enhanced due to the analyzer’s seven-element input design. Simultaneous dual harmonic analysis can be performed up to the 500th order and up to a 300kHz fundamental waveform. This allows for the measurement of the fundamental frequency from the rotational speed of the motor, while also checking the influence of the switching frequency from the inverter drive.
