Epson Showcases New Robots at Pack Expo

The future of the packaging industry is headed in one specific direction: automation. It allows businesses to cost-effectively produce and package quality products, giving them a leg up from the competition. The benefits of increased productivity and maximizing personnel can greatly impact a business’s success.

Finding the right solution, which is also affordable and easy, may seem overwhelming. Luckily, with more than 50,000 attendees and 2,500 exhibitors, Pack Expo is the place to get inspired and see the latest and greatest innovations for every facet of the packaged goods industry.

At this year’s event, Epson Robots plans to make waves by unveiling its Synthis T6 all-in-one SCARA robot; Force Guide, a high performance integrated force guidance solution; and Flexion N2 compact 6-axis robots. The company’s booth will also feature an array of its robots designed for factory automation, as well as lead discussions on factory automation.

The Synthis T3 and T6 robots were designed with eliminating waste in mind. They provide a way to automate factories without loss of time or money on expensive, complex, slide-based solutions. Their built-in controller has new technology that reduces space requirements and makes setup simple. It also comes with the Epson RC+  development environment.

The robots were engineered with simple applications across various industries in mind, such as pick and place, assembly, parts handling and dispensing applications. At the event, the robots will be shown with Vision Guide demonstrating inspection and pick and place applications using vision guidance.

Also being showcased will be Epson’s Flexion N2 6-Axis. It is a space-saving robot with a compact folding arm design that allows for efficient movement and precise placement needed in advanced manufacturing. It was designed for use in production and quality assurance in industries that have smaller work cells and require smaller robots such as automotive, electronics, medical and laboratory equipment industries.

Other exhibitors making the splash at this year’s event include debuting the XPAK ROBOX powered by Universal Robots new cobot-assisted palletizers, box-erectors; ESS Technologies showcasing Predictive Maintenance (PM) Technology installed on a V30 robotic case packer; and Kawasaki displaying the newest additions to its general purpose R Series line, two 6-axis vertically articulated robots.
