Beck Automation has stated that its BASIC IML series is now also available for two cavity machines. The variant is suitable for one to five litre buckets. The machine can also be operated with only one cavity.

The main arm, which enters the open injection moulding machine from the side, is mounted on a stable linear axis. This consists of an aluminum profile with precision tracks and is driven via a toothed belt by a servo motor. All components are designed for continuous operation and require little maintenance.

Moticont has added a linear motor to its SDLM Series of direct drive linear motors (which are also known as Electric Cylinders). The SDLM-051-095-01-05 is a linear actuator that has a 25.4mm stroke and features a resolution of 5 microns.

The integral, linear optical quadrature encoder is connected to the shaft for bandwidth and accuracy and is protected by the housing. This enclosed linear motor features a continuous force rating of 33.9N and a peak force of 107.2N at 10 percent duty cycle.

POSITAL has announced a new generation of analog rotary encoders for position control. Compared to the company’s earlier analog encoders, these models are designed to feature improved accuracy, faster dynamic response and increased programming options. They also accept a wider range of supply voltages.

The encoders are built for positioning tasks that use analog control systems. Outputs are either voltage (0-5V, 0.5-4.5V, 0-10V or 0.5-9.5V) or current (0-20 mA or 4-20 mA). The magnetic measurement mechanism is wear-free and durable, improving the devices’ service life.

Reliable Controls has unveiled the release of RC-Reporter 3.6. This customizable, server-based application allows users to analyze the trend and runtime data from any BACnet, Internet-connected building, and generate professional performance reports.

Version 3.6 includes an Identifier Selector drop-down tool which automatically appears at the top of any report using a Data Set. The Identifier Selector allows users to specify a Data Set point to be used in all of the applicable components in a report.

Rockwell Automation has released its iTRAK Intelligent Track System. This system is a modular, scalable and linear motor setup. It allows for independent control of multiple movers on straight or curvilinear paths.

Features of the iTRAK system include:

  • Increased production rates – 50 percent or more
  • Lessened downtime for changeovers
  • Reduced machine size
  • Lowered periodic maintenance
