GE Digital Edge-to-Cloud Capabilities for IIoT
GE Digital has announced the latest iteration of Predix Edge, aimed at simplifying edge-to-cloud computing and helping businesses securely progress their Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives from pilot to production.
The company also introduced its Predix Private Cloud (PPC) system, an on-premises deployment of the Predix platform, which provides users with the privacy, security, data sovereignty and data isolation offered by a private cloud infrastructure.

Micronor Fiber Optic Position Sensor System
Micronor has introduced the MR430 Size 11 Fiber Optic Position Sensor System, an absolute rotary encoder. The sensor is based on Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) technology. This passive, EMI-immune position feedback system is suitable for operating environments stressed by high voltage, RFI, microwave radiation, magnetic fields or explosive atmospheres.
The MR430 sensor features a Size 11 form factor suitable for the robotic or actuator mechanism, and provides 25-bit resolution (13-bit Single Turn + 12-bit Multi-turn) with an updated rate of 850µs. Furthermore, the system includes the ability to operate interference-free over distances up to 30 meters.

OMRON Collaborative Robot
OMRON has released its TM series collaborative robot (cobot) family in order to help createa manufacturing environment where humans and machines work in synchronization.The TM series can automate applications such as picking, packing and screwdriving which, although traditionally performed by humans, can be challenging to easily automate.
As part of the TM series launch, OMRON will release a “mobile-compatible” model which will integrate into the LD series autonomous mobile robot. By combining the mobile-ready TM series with the LD series, users can automate more complex tasks such as pick and place onto a tray or into a container by connecting processes with autonomous mobile robots.

Rockwell Automation Graphic Terminals
Rockwell Automation has launched its PanelView 5510 Graphic Terminals, offered in sizes ranging from 7-inch to 19-inch wide screens with touch and keypad options. The units use Studio 5000 View Designer and offer Logix tag-based alarms, a PDF viewer, a terminal emulator, VNC remote access and real-time and historical trending. The terminals are also equipped with EtherNet/IP and device-level ring and on-screen buttons. The switch technology helps to support network fault tolerance and reduce downtime.

Vero Additive Machining Module
Vero has unveiled Edgecam 2019 R1, which adds an additive machining module.Supporting the direct energy deposition method, Edgecam provides a dedicated manufacturing cycle which accurately guides a laser as it deposits material to form a shape. After that, the shape is machined using Edgecam’s milling cycles to create the final component.
As Edgecam 2019 R1 now features ToolStore support for additive manufacturing, shapes can be built using almost any milling cycle, including advanced functions such as rotary and 5-axis simultaneous machining.
