FARO has released SCENE 2019, a software platform that optimizes the FARO Focus Laser Scanner product family. SCENE 2019 is designed to evolve the 3D reality capture, analysis and documentation experience across the public safety forensics segment for crash, crime, fire and security planning and Traceable Construction for architecture, engineering and construction sectors.

SCENE 2019 allows the laser scanner CPU to be leveraged at nearly 100 percent of capacity and reduces scan processing time by up to 50 percent. Additionally, this efficiency scales up accordingly as additional CPU cores are added.

PCB Piezotronics has introduced two industrial, case-isolated, cryogenic ICP accelerometers designed for use in low temperature applications such as cryogenic centrifugal and reciprocating pumps. They are ideal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing, industrial gas processing (argon, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen), pharmaceutical production (statin drugs, biotech products such as vaccines) and frozen food production/storage.

Pepperl+Fuchs Inclination Sensor

Pepperl+Fuchs has launched its F199 inclination sensor. It measures angles from 0 to 360° precisely with ±0.15° accuracy in both axes – across the entire measuring range.F199 can be used in concentrated solar power (CSP) applications to generate energy from solar heat. CSP plants typically have many mirrors that concentrate solar radiation onto a receiver or receiver area.

To avoid scattering loss from inaccurate mirror alignment, inclination sensors detect the inclination angles of the mirrors. The F199’s durable housing and operational temperature range of -45 to +85 °C make it suitable for this purpose.

Yokogawa has developed the TDLS8100 probe type tunable diode laser spectrometer. The TDLS8100 is suited for applications in the oil, petrochemical, power, iron and steel industries that require the ability to directly measure oxygen or carbon monoxide gas concentration at high speeds. With its integrated light launcher and detector, the laser spectrometer reduces the need for the installation of flanges and scaffolding, and thus provides a 50 percent or greater reduction in installation costs.

ZEISS X-Ray Microscopes

ZEISS has unveiled two models of its Xradia Versa family. The Xradia 610 and 620 Versa X-ray microscopes provide fast non-destructive imaging of intact samples without sacrificing resolution and contrast over the range of power and kV.

By utilizing RaaD capability, the Xradia Versa family maintains high resolution across large working distances, accommodating samples contained within environmental chambers and increased precision in situ load rigs. This allows material science researchers to non-destructively characterize the 3D microstructure of materials in controlled environments to understand the impact of different factors, such as heating or compression.
