Dunkermotoren Motor with Axial Flux Principal

Dunkermotoren has launched its BGA 22 motor. In the case of this axial flux motor, the magnetic fields are formed in the axial direction, parallel to the motor shaft, while in conventionally-built motors, the magnetic field is formed radially. The motor is ironless, meaning cogging and resetting losses are eliminated or heavily reduced. This basic principle is already utilized in so-called “Printed Motors,” which are utilized in consumer electronics.

Curtiss-Wright has released its FTP160 Electric Press Actuator, which is based on planetary roller screw technology and provides continuous force ratings to 200 kN. The unit features stroke lengths from 150mm to 900mm. The device is also offered with rigid circular front mounting flange. The high-capacity planetary roller screws increase life and provide higher shock load resistance. It is offered in idler pulley design that reduces motor installation and belt tensioning.

Kinitics Automation has unveiled its KLA05 Linear Actuator, a shape memory alloy-based actuator that uses Bundled Wire technology to provide high force and actuation speed in a small package. The deviceuses shape memory alloy to give precise linear motion without the use of motors, and requires only electrical power to operate.

The device allows users to upgrade and improve existing systems, while also enabling the automation and control of processes that were previously unfeasible using conventional equipment.

Mitsubishi Direct Drive Motor

Mitsubishi Electric has introduced a pair of direct drive motors (TM-RG2M / TM-RU2M). Unlike rotary servo motors that are coupled to a load with a mechanical transmission such as a gear, coupling or belt, the TM-RG2M / TMRU2M Low-Profile Direct Drive Motor is coupled directly to a load, resulting in greater positioning accuracy, reduced energy use and less maintenance. It is suited for use in industries such as semiconductor/LCD manufacturing, machine tool, material handling and inspection.
