IronCAD Is Now FREE for Students!

If there is one thing we love around here, it is companies that give out free software to students. Afterall, many students stick with their chosen university CAD software throughout their professional lives, so it makes sense for companies to catch their attention at an early stage of their careers. Those students could turn into lifelong customers…they might even go on to work in software procurement at a large company.

It pays for companies to sow these seeds early on. They might one day grow into mighty oaks!

So, with that in mind, we are pleased to announce that IronCAD is now 100 percent free for students.

So, what do you get for your investment of zero money?

Well, you get everything you would in the fully paid version of the software.

It comes with all the functionality of the commercial IronCAD license, with the exceptions that drawings are watermarked with the IronCAD logo, and that files created and saved in the student version can only be opened in a student version of the software.

IronCAD is a hybrid modeling solution, meaning that it is both a parametric and direct modeling software—and you can make use of the history-based method, or you can sculpt your designs by using the grab handles attached to the geometry.

Also included is the drag-and-drop capability, 2D Drafting, an extensive design extension suite and fast visual rendering that is suitable for any assortment of educational work or projects. What also makes IronCAD different from its competitors is the software’s unified design environment, meaning that assembly components are saved within the same workspace rather than requiring you to reference external part files for an assembly as you would with other solutions on the market. Feature, part and assembly data can be stored in catalogs, which can be prebuilt to include frequently used parts and assemblies, freeing designers to be more productive and enabling them to extend the use of 3D data throughout the enterprise.

You can see more about the IronCAD features in the video below.

If you’d like to get your hands on a free student license, you can apply for your free student version of IronCAD over at this link.

To obtain a student version, simply register for the license, download the software, and then an IronCAD representative will contact you with your year-long student license shortly after. And if you’re still an enrolled student after the initial one-year license expires, you can simply reapply for a new one, and you can continue to do so until you leave school.

Hurrah!
