Hioki Impulse Winding Tester

Hioki has launched its ST4030 impulse winding tester, utilized in testing for defects in motor windings. The ST4030 uses response waveform quantification to detect layer shorts (insulation defects) that cannot be detected by the standard approach of comparing area values arising from discrepancies between waveforms.

Additionally, the instrument is able to detect waveforms with a high degree of precision thanks to 12MHz sampling and 12-bit resolution, and it can be used with the Discharge Detection Upgrade ST9000 to detect partial discharges caused by pseudo-shorts.

Keysight Full Box 400GE Test System

Keysight Technologies has combined its AresOne-400 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) test system with the Marvell Prestera CX 8580 Ethernet switch to showcase the improved performance capabilities of 400GE (PAM4-based silicon) full box 400GE test at 12.8Tbps.

The CX 8580 switch—a 12.8Tbps, 256x 50G device—is part of a family of switches from Marvell that provide increased workflow visibility and analytics with its Storage Aware Flow Engine (SAFE) technology and a reduction in network layers by leveraging its radix switch core technology, known as “FASTER.”

Pico Real Time Oscilloscope

Pico has introduced its PicoScope 9404 SXRTO (Sampler eXtended Real Time Oscilloscope). The 9404 features four 5GHz 12-bit channels, each supported by real-time sampling to 500MS/s per channel and up to 1TS/s (1ps) equivalent-time sampling. Both the voltage and timing resolution specifications are characteristics of the modern broadband oscilloscopes.

PROMAX Passive Optical Network

PROMAX has released its PROLITE-67 optical power meters, designed to analyze PON networks. PON stands for “passive optical network,” referring to the optical network composed by non-active components in all stages between the origin (local exchange) and the external sides (subscribers or clients). The others acronyms (GPON, XG-PON) correspond to the standard transmissions that travel through this physical network.

The PROLITE-67 works with GPON, XG-GPON and NG-PON2. This is because the wavelength filter integrated in the PROLITE-67 for PON video band (1550-1560nm) covers up to 1625nm. Meaning, in addition to PON video, this filter also covers the XG-GPON and NG-PON2 downstream.

Tektronix Arbitrary Waveform Generator

Tektronix has developed the AWG70000B arbitrary waveform generator. Its features allow it to support the testing of complex electronic warfare and wireless communications systems requiring the ability to dynamically alter signal sequences during test scenarios.

The device’s Streaming Waveform ID feature gives users access to a total of 16,383 sequence steps though a direct Ethernet interface. With this functionality, users can change scenarios quickly to replicate real-world simulations more accurately in less time.
