Blackline Area Monitoring for Gas Detection

Blackline Safety has announced its G7 Exo area monitoring system. The G7 Exo is part of Blackline's overall connected safety lineup. Every G7 Exo system deployed will report its location and gas readings to the Blackline Safety Network where a live monitoring team can respond to any detected gas leaks and evacuate personnel as needed. G7 Exo also supports Blackline’s recently-announced push-to-talk capability for personal G7c cellular-connected gas detectors.

When using a G7c with push-to-talk enabled, G7 Exo provides nearby employees with an additional two-way radio system that delivers a loud area broadcast and the option to call other personnel on the same channel.

Honeywell has introduced an automated robotic system for unloading a range of packages from truck trailers and shipping containers at distribution centers. The robotic unloader uses artificial intelligence to operate fully autonomously inside of a trailer, which reduces the manual effort required to operate receiving docks for retail merchandise and parcel distribution centers. This smart robotics system can help users improve workplace safety, reduce staffing challenges and minimize damage to packages.

Rockwell Automation has launched its ControlLogix 5580 controller for industrial control system security. Communications between industrial control devices have minimal protection today. This leaves them vulnerable to threats like malicious tampering and incidental system changes that can stop production or injure workers. The ControlLogix 5580 provides built-in security based on globally accepted security standards to protect control-level communications and overall system integrity.

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has unveiled its Cheminformatics Tool Kit, which utilizes neural network algorithms to help predict chemical toxicity. The Cheminformatics chemical toxicity prediction software can determine whether a chemical is hazardous in a matter of seconds. It scans a database of more than 70 million chemical structures, as well as more than 300,000 biological and 20,000 animal data points, reducing chemical testing complexity by a large degree. Thus, this kit can help improve workplace efficiency, safety and overall manufacturing production time.
