Sherrill Manufacturing, Sherrill, N.Y., has received the 2019 National Metalworking Reshoring Award in recognition of the company’s success bringing manufacturing back home to the United States. The award, given by the Reshoring Initiative, the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), The Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT ) and the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), honors a company that has effectively restored products, parts or tooling made primarily by metal forming, fabricating, casting or machining, including additive manufacturing.

This is a big win for our employees, who stuck with us through thick and thin, as well as for our customers who are those loyal folks who search for and insist on Made in America,” said Greg Owens, CEO of Sherrill Manufacturing. “I was honored to accept this award for them, the dedicated silversmiths at Sherrill, and in recognition of our customers, who have supported the comeback of flatware manufacturing in the USA.”
Sherrill is part of a growing number of companies working to revitalize manufacturing in North America. The Reshoring Initiative maintains a database of 2900 companies which have returned jobs to North America since 2010.
The Reshoring Initiative is an industry-led movement founded in 2010 by Harry Moser. Its #1 goal is to rebalance the $500 billion per year trade deficit, thus returning 4 million manufacturing jobs to the U.S. Since its inception the group claims to have brought 338,000 new manufacturing jobs to the U.S.
