LPT: Motors and Actuators – DEPRAG Air Motor, Firgelli Linear Actuators & More

DEPRAG Air Motor

DEPRAG has introduced its ADVANCED LINE air motor. This motor can be employed in potentially explosive areas. Through the expansion of air, any frictional warmth generated is cooled and – even under load – there is no possibility of overheating the vane motor or igniting gases. The internal overpressure also prevents the penetration of dirt and dust.

Dunkermotoren has launched its BG 45 brushless DC motor. The BG 45 includes the Safety Integrated Function SLT (Safely Limited Torque), which ensures a limited torque by monitoring the motor current during operation.

In addition, the BG 45 motors are now available in specific versions compatible with the SIMATIC MICRO-DRIVE servo drive system, made possible via the TIA portal, simplifying commissioning and service.

Firgelli Automations has unveiled its Bullet Series of linear actuators. The Bullet Series is named for its streamlined design, which resembles a bullet firing from the barrel of a gun. Both the 36 Caliber and 50 Caliber models feature built-in Hall Effect sensors which allow for synchronization, position and speed control. The feedback the Hall sensors provide is important for applications where multiple actuators must travel in sync.

Nanomotion has developed its RS08 series of rotary shutters. The RS08 is designed to optimize SWaP (Size, Weight and Power), having a piezo motor element and drive electronics inside the shutter body. The shutter weighs 2g, operates from a 3.3vdc input and can provide travel from 35° to 120°. It is designed and tested to MIL SPEC, for shock, vibration and operating temperature.

Oriental Motor has updated drivers for its BLH Series 24 VDC brushless motors. These drivers include an improvement to the traditional analog type and the introduction of a digital driver, which is compatible with the MEXE02 product support software.

The digital driver is suited for speed control that requires data setting, monitoring or multiple synchronization. It is available for the 15 watt, 30 watt and 50 watt type BLH Series motors. The digital driver is also the most recent driver supported by the MEXE02 software, which is available for free on the company’s website. The MEXE02 software allows for fast setup, extended functions and capabilities, including easy programming and monitoring.
