Honeywell has launched its VeriShield 100 Series Passive Earmuffs, optimized for comfort with memory foam cushions, adjustable fit, hard hat integration and long-wearing protection. Verishield 100 features steel-wire construction with padded headband and precision micro adjustments designed to provide the right fit around the ear.

Comfortable to fit a wide range of head sizes for work crews, the wide cup opening accommodates larger ears and hearing aids, while also having memory foam ear cushions to reduce squeezing pressure.

ifm Safe Inclination Measurement

ifm has announced its JD inclination sensor. This sensor can be used for the detection of inclination angles and positions of mobile machines. Typical applications are the horizontal levelling of platforms or the boom measurement on wheeled excavators.

Vibrations, impacts or external acceleration of a machine can lead to faulty measured values. The JD series sensors solve this problem by utilizing a 3D gyroscope as well as a 3D acceleration sensor. A 6-axes IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) with intelligent sensor fusion filters determines the precise inclination values on this basis.

Industrial Scientific has added a CO2 sensor to its Radius BZ1 area monitor. The Radius BZ1 can detect up to 7 gases simultaneously and now has 18 sensor options, making it useful for a variety of applications and industries. The CO2 sensor offers a measurement range of 0-5 percent with a resolution of 0.01 percent volume.

Lumberg Automation has developed a series of safety I/O modules which meet the requirements of IP67 protection class and allow safety-related outputs to be switched off directly in the field without the need for an additional terminal box.

These outputs are designed for safety-related applications up to performance level D (as defined in the new Machinery Directive), making this I/O module suitable for safe control of actuators or – following a complete switch-off of the 24V output power supply – reliable emergency OFF functions.

PT Identifies Vulnerabilities in Industrial Process Automation Systems

APROL industrial automation systems. (Image courtesy of B&R Automation.)

Positive Technologies’ (PT) ICS Security and Application Analysis departments have found multiple vulnerabilities in 12 components of APROL industrial process automation systems made by B&R Automation.

The most dangerous are five vulnerabilities that allow remote attackers to run arbitrary code in the APROL system. Because vulnerable components are used in many types of industrial process automation systems, the possible effects of an attack can include scenarios such as oil leaks and electricity outages.

To identify cyber incidents and detect ICS vulnerabilities, PT offers PT ISIM and MaxPatrol 8 for the specific requirements of industrial protocols.
