Microchip has launched its 24-bit MCP356x and 16-bit MCP346x delta-sigma analog-to-digital convertors (ADCs), which provide improved programmable data rates and lower noise performance. Available in a 3 mm x 3 mm UQFN-20 package, these ADCs help meet the increasing demand for small packaging in space-constrained applications such as portable instrumentation devices.

Microsemi Atomic Clock

Microsemi has developed its MHM-2020 hydrogen maser atomic clock. Hydrogen masers deliver stability by operating on the principle that hydrogen atoms, in the right environment, emit microwaves at a precise 1420405751 Hz frequency. Phaselocking this extremely small-power and high-purity signal to a high-performance quartz oscillator creates a clock output signal that provides needed long-term stability and phase noise to enable precise timekeeping.

The MHM-2020 maser uses a drift-compensation feature to improve long-term clock-drift and aging performance, which is critical for metrology and timekeeping applications.

Pasternack has introduced a series of high frequency power dividers designed for 5G cellular communication, automotive radar and satellite communication applications. The series consists of 17 models with an operating frequency range from 26.5 GHz to 67 GHz.

Additional features include SMA; 2.92mm, 2.4mm and 1.85mm connectors; power handling capability up to 20W; and 2- and 4-port model options. These power splitters offer low insertion loss and good return loss, which are useful for initial proof-of-concept testing and prototype builds.

RS Components has announced a series of connectors for industrial applications that are manufactured by Hirose Electric. The ix Industrial series meets the requirements for space-constrained applications and can support I/O signal transmission speeds of up to 10 Gigabits per second.

The series also features availability with two keying codes for Ethernet and non-Ethernet applications, as well as compliance with the IEC PAS 61076-3-124 standard. Electrical characteristics include a current rating of 1.5A for all 10 contacts, with 3A capability on pins 1, 2, 6 and 7; a voltage rating of 50V; 5,000 mating cycles; and an operating temperature of–40 to +85°C.

TI Microcontrollers

Texas Instruments (TI) has unveiled new communications capabilities on its C2000 microcontrollers (MCUs). C2000 F2838x 32-bit MCUs allow designers to use a single chip to implement connectivity—including EtherCAT, Ethernet and Controller Area Network with Flexible Data Rate (CAN FD)—in AC servo drives and other industrial systems. In addition, because the C2000 F2838x MCUs do not require an external ASIC, they reduce overall size and costs.
