Hexagon just announced the launch of their new multisensor configuration platform as a partner to their Enhanced Productivity Series (EPS). The OPTIV M coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is designed to deploy the EPS in order to offer a wider range of configuration packages to manufacturers. This allows small and medium precision parts manufacturers to select packages optimized to their own individual applications.

The EPS are pre-configured but are capable of evolving over time. The technology is designed to offer manufacturers their choice of productivity drivers targeting areas such as precision, flexibility, or shop floor capability. Quality engineers and CMM operators can create, execute, and analyze measurement routines geared towards increasing productivity according to the demand in operations.

The OPTIV M is available in three performance levels: Green, Blue, and Chrome. Each varies in application and price. For more information, visit this link.

The CMM was designed with the intention of being compatible with a variety of contactless and tactile sensors, software, and collaborative technologies. The flexible nature of the OPTIV M makes it an easily upgradable configuration for future applications.

“The OPTIV M multisensor CMM helps precision part manufacturers in fast-paced, competitive environments raise inspection productivity in line with their specific business goals,” says Dr. Tobias M. Weber, Hexagon’s Product Manager Vision. “On top of satisfying demand for a multisensor CMM tailored for today’s applications, the OPTIV M is designed to adapt readily to future smart technologies and changing production requirements.”

In addition to this, Hexagon also offers a customized version of the OPTIV M.

The OPTIV M CMM is currently available worldwide via local Hexagon commercial operations and dealers.
