Magic Leap Offers Spatial Computing Technology to Businesses with New Enterprise Suite

Magic Leap is taking the next step by offering spatial computing technology to businesses. Its newest enterprise suite features its augmented reality headset, the Magic Leap 1, and a software program designed to build and deploy enterprise or custom applications. The most notable feature is its 3D spatial visualization capabilities.

The new Magic Leap Enterprise Suite is ideally for designers. Its 3D spatial visualization allows for easier collaboration and demonstration, resulting in quicker design iterations when necessary. Spatial computing is what enables designers such as architects to virtually walk around a CAD render of a building, or allows doctors to stand inside a CT scan.

This technology also enables workers to share and capture content, allowing other workers to follow instructions. Manufacturing solutions provider Jabil has been using Magic Leap technology to train its production-line operators while simplifying assembly operations through digital instructions.

Magic Leap can also be used to augment spaces, such as sports venues, museums, trade shows and college campuses, creating a more dynamic experience for consumers. The company has already seen a successful turnout when AT&T stores offered a spatial Game of Thrones experience.

“Since the launch of Magic Leap One Creator Edition in August, 2018, we’ve been working on solutions with enterprise partners, looking at different enterprise verticals, which has allowed us to understand the needs of the marketplace,” said Omar Khan of Magic Leap. “This has enabled us to build a product around the enterprise’s real, everyday needs.”

The Magic Leap Enterprise Suite 1 will include the following:

  • New Magic Leap 1 HMD with Tethered Lightpack

This is the new updated version; however, users of the Magic Leap 1 Creator Edition can still expect updates to LuminOS (0.98) and LuminSDK (0.23).

  • Support

Users will have two-year access to dedicated omnichannel support.

  • Two-year access to Device Manager and RapidReplace

Device Manager allows administrators to manage critical aspects in the use of Magic Leap 1. This includes authorization to configure and set up devices, view usage metrics, remotely distribute apps and updates, and remotely lock or wipe devices. The RapidReplace program guarantees that users can immediately replace their devices if needed.

  • Two-year extended warranty

The Magic Leap Enterprise Suite is currently priced at $2,995.

Magic Leap will also be working on Magic Leap 2, which is slated to be released in 2021.

“This is a major new platform packed with sensors, and advanced optics,” said founder Rony Abovitz. According to the company, 2020 will mark close collaboration with customers to perfect Magic Leap 2.
